Do men have a Love Imprint™?

Hi Orna and Matthew,

I’ve been reading your weekly posts for years, and look forward to Monday to read them.

Today a thought occurred to me, how do men think?  It seems the Love Imprint is around women’s thought processes. Perhaps I feel this way because, for the most part women write to you, and the responses could be directed from the feminine side. Perhaps Mathew could share, what do men think?  Do they also struggle with their past imprints as women?

For instance, when you said, “You are choosing to allow yourself to love men who reflect back to you the energetic dynamic of love that was present for you in your family of origin.”

Do men also struggle with this? I’m wondering if per chance this is what is going on in my relationship.  My relationship ebbs and flows with a man whose dad kidnapped him at a very early age and he didn’t meet his mother until he was in his forties. A whole other story.

Thank you for your wise perspectives.

Cheers!

Dear Joy,

We’re so glad you reached out to us with this question. While we primarily work with women (and therefore pick questions from women), we do also have a few male clients. It is common for both men and women to wonder if the other sex has the same or similar issues when it comes to love.

The concept of a Love Imprint™ is not exclusive to just women. It is a universal part of the human experience. All of us have a Love Imprint™, and some of us have a healthy Love Imprint™, which makes it easier to create love that lasts.

It all depends on the meaning that we as little children give to our experiences growing up. Even if we have challenging circumstances in our childhood, we could have beliefs and strategies in our Love Imprint™ that are useful and helpful to our relationships.

A newborn child does not have any blocks to love. They have no stories about love being difficult or unavailable for them. They give and receive love freely. A newborn child is the physical embodiment of the energy of love. This is our true nature.

It is the very human circumstances of our childhood that cause us to believe that love is not always available to us. Every child needs to feel that they are loved and safe in order to survive and therefore will take on any limiting belief that allows them to feel loved and safe.

These things occur for both men and women. Both genders have the ability to have a healthy Love Imprint™, or one that is filled with blocks to love. It’s all about the meaning that we assign to the events that we experience.

The man you are in relationship with made decisions about himself when he was a boy. Just as you made decisions about what was possible for you as a little girl.

In fact, men and women have very similar problems (and complaints) about the opposite sex – most are some version of, “Why can’t you be more like me?” It is our differences which create attraction. So, while women might like men to be more expressive with their emotions and men might like women to be more rational in their reactions, this would result in a lot of platonic friendships and no chemistry.

We are of course making broad generalizations as you can find exceptions in both men who are more like women, and vice-versa.

The concept of a Love Imprint™ is universal as it deals with what we call “The Human Condition.” Much of our work is actually Emotional Mastery so that our clients receive a vast toolbox filled with custom crafted tools just for them.

The foundation of any great relationship is communication so that there is emotional intimacy and becoming a Master Communicator is an essential part of becoming a Master Of Love.

If you are interested in how to work with us either privately or in the intimate group setting the place to start is to have a Your Love Imprint® Session with us. During this private conversation, we will determine your specific Love Imprint™ and a few options of how to transform it with us so you can create long-lasting, soul-satisfying love.

We only have a limited number of Your Love Imprint® Sessions available through this calendar year, so submit your application today at: www.YourLoveImprint.com.

We are here to be your guides to love!
